Though shells had been used in the button industry for the past three centuries, only certain kinds of shells can be used for the manufacturing of buttons, like trocas, mother-of-pearl, abalone, akoya pearl shell, tiger shell, river shell and etc. Button made from the material of white MOP is with the highest quality and the most expensive one among all other shells. Akoya and river shell buttons are considered to the least expensive ones.
Our company only uses those left-over, empty, non-protected and artificially-cultured shells as our raw materials.

B. World of Tree: Description

The major parts of a tree used in the button industry are the sapwood and the heartwood. As a responsible corporate citizen in the business community, we only purchase those woods grown on plantations or managed forest. The woods and plants we used in the button manufacturing include acacia, ashwood, bamboo, beechwood, boxwood, coconut, cork, corozo nut, driftwood, ebony wood, maplewood, oakwood, olivewood, rosewood, zebrawood and so forth.

C. World of Animal: Description

Materials from animal usually include horn, leather and bone. As a recycling product, horns from cattle, buffalo or ram, collected from the abattoirs, are widely used for making buttons. The variety of animal skins and the way in which they are processed can produce leather as soft as cloth and as hard as a shoe sole or button. Usually made from cattle, bone button can be used as underwear and trouser button.
Casein button is made from a substance derived from milk mixed with alkali and formaldehyde. It possesses basically the same chemical/physical nature of plastic; and similar characteristics of horns in consistency, thermal flexibility and malleability.

Materials from mineral to make buttons include ceramic, glass, rhinestone and marble.

E. World of Metal: Description

There are basically three types of metal buttons: die-casting/zinc alloy button, spin-casting button and brass button (mainly snap and tack buttons made with brass, steel, aluminum , iron and copper material).

F. World of Plastics: Description

There are two types of plastic materials: thermosetting and thermoplastic. Thermosetting substances, such as polyester, urea and epoxy, can be moulded when heated, but the reaction is accompanied by a chemical change, so the material is permanently hardened and heat-resistant therafter. Thermoplastic substances, such as nylon, acrylic and ABS, can be reheated and reformed.

Our company uses the fully-automatic computer-controlled laser engraving machine, the state-of-the-art technology from Italy, to engrave buttons with any character, pattern, shape and material (except metal).

H. World of Craft: Description

Craft button is made for small quantities by simple machinery and special human skills, therefore each button exemplifies its individuality and unique characterisitcs. It can either be hand-painted, hand-carved, hand-crafted or fabric-covered with a wide variety of materials ranging from shell, animal, mineral and up to metal and polyester.
